Independent Publisher Book Award (IPPY) -- 1st Place (Gold) WINNER

Outstanding Book of the Year -- Most Progressive Health Book (2008)

The Independent Publisher Book Awards are conducted annually to honor the year's best independently published titles.

This contest attracted 3,175 total entries. Books came from 49 U.S. states, D.C., and U.S. Virgin Islands; 9 Canadian provinces, and 16 countries around the world: Trinidad to Thailand, Croatia to Czech Republic, and France to Finland.

The "IPPY" Outstanding Book of the Year Awards reward those who exhibit the courage and creativity necessary to take chances, break new ground, and bring about change, not only to the world of publishing, but to our society...These nominees were chosen from our regular entries for exemplifying this daring spirit and this list represents the cutting edge of independent thinking and expression.

Eric Hoffer Book Award

Health Category (2008)

"Preserving the Works and Memory of the Great American Thinker." This award honors freethinking writers and independent books of exceptional merit. Winners are honored as well as being covered in the annual anthology, Best New Writing. The Hoffer Award is a platform for and the champion of the independent voice.

The Beautiful Truth

Beth appears in The Beautiful Truth, a film documentary by award-winning producer Steve Kroschel with Kroschel Films. Released in November 2008, it has been distributed by California-based Cinema Libre. This film highlights the link between health, diet, and environment, and features interviews with researchers and physicians in the fields of food additives, genetically engineered food, mercury and fluoride toxicity, and also the Gerson Therapy, which focuses on a highly successful alternative, non-toxic treatment of cancer and other diseases.
